Gynaecology

We provide a local, friendly, consultant led NHS Gynaecology Service at Goyt Valley Medical Practice, Eccles Rd, Chapel-en-le-Frith, High Peak SK23 9EQ.

Our visiting consultants run regular monthly clinics.  Waiting times for appointments are 5 to 6 weeks.

Patients requiring surgery may be treated locally at Macclesfield District General or referred under the NHS to the Regency Hospital in Macclesfield.

Dr Kyle Gilmour – MBChB, MD, FRCOG

Dr Kyle Gilmour, has been a Consultant Gynaecologist in the Manchester area for a number of years, in his NHS practice he is the lead for Gynaecological cancer treatment and Colposcopy. He has expertise in laparoscopic gynaecological surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomy, removal of ovaries or ovarian cysts and treatment of conditions such as endometriosis. He can perform hysterectomies by laparoscopic, vaginal and abdominal routes dependent on the particular patient factors. He also has expertise in management of fibroids and period problems by laparoscopic surgery techniques. He has a research interest in the menopause and hormone replacement therapy and is happy to advise women regarding these issues.

Dr Joe Kabyemela – MD, MSc, FRCOG

Mr Kabyemela is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with several years’ experience in the specialty. He has been a consultant at a local District General Hospital since 2010. Before that, he worked for a few years at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

Mr Kabyemela’s areas of expertise and special interest include ambulatory gynaecology, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, sexual dysfunction and menopause. In the non-clinical areas, he has a particular passion for medical/health informatics.
